Joins us for camp, Monday-Friday at the Waldorf School of New Orleans, 8:30a-3:30p for a day of mathematics as seen through an arts lens.
Students will start the day working for 2 hours with a local artist and various different mediums, centralized to themes of architecture, nature/body, and kinesthetics. After, students will come together to prepare and enjoy sensible snacks, with conversations regarding whole foods versus processed and the choice to consume empty calories versus drinking water. The day continues with hours of board games and structured play that lead to conversations regarding game theory, algebra, and geometry.
Each Wednesday, the students will take a local field trip to explore these topics deeper as they connect to the beauty and history of New Orleans. Each Friday, students will participate in field day activities and will be allowed to bring treats to share with the group.
Cost of camp per week will be $175 for the following weeks:
June 27-July 1
Space is limited to students rising to grades 5-9 and there are only 8 seats open for the first 3 weeks, so please call 504-525-2420 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for application and more information 🙂
